How to draw up a practice report?

In the process of studying at a university or college, students are required to undergo practice in order to consolidate their knowledge and gain practical work skills. During the training period, students undergo training practice, production and pre-thesis. After going through each practice, you must provide a report to the department, which includes a diary and a description from the place of practice.

We offer a closer look at each type of practice.

Educational practice (orientation, practice of obtaining primary professional skills at a university) is the student’s first practice. The purpose of educational practice is to consolidate general theoretical knowledge and general ideas about the chosen specialty. As a rule, students are instructed to conduct lectures and study the work of employees who are already working in your chosen specialty.

Industrial practice (technological, performing, professional, research, scientific and pedagogical practice). It takes place in 3-4 courses and is already aimed at consolidating, expanding, deepening and systematizing knowledge in the chosen specialty. The trainee gets acquainted with the work of all departments and services of the organization, takes a direct part in the work of the enterprise, studies materials on its activities for further use in future work.

And finally, undergraduate practice, a report on which is already being delivered at the final course. Often, the pre-graduation report is the second chapter of the thesis, therefore, based on the information received at the enterprise, the student will need to disclose the topic of the thesis. A pre-graduation report reveals an analysis of the enterprise.

Below we will consider the main parts of the student practice report.
The title page is drawn up according to the model of guidelines. Each educational institution has its own design requirements.

The schedule (sometimes included in the diary) is drawn up for the period of practice, which prescribes the planned enterprises and deadlines.

Practice diary – similar to the calendar plan, drawn up in the form of a table, in it the student-trainee prescribes the completed tasks of the practice program and the deadlines.

The characteristic for the student is the head of practice. The characteristics indicate the student’s personal data, leadership qualities, information about the level of training and acquired professional knowledge.

The content (table of contents) of the report contains all the necessary points, according to the structure of practice.

The introduction of the report contains:

  • goals and objectives of practice;
  • place of practice;
  • questions that will be investigated on the report;
  • assessment of the current state of the enterprise, etc.

The content of chapters and paragraphs is approved by the department (faculty). Most often, the main part of the report consists of 2-3 chapters; this is the theoretical and practical part. In the practical part, an analysis of the enterprise is carried out, the pros and cons in the work are identified, calculations and conclusions are made.

The conclusion is written on the basis of the material studied. Contains answers about completed tasks. Includes all conclusions received in the main part. It will be good to write personal recommendations for improving the activities of the enterprise.

The list of references contains all sources used in writing the work. It is made out according to requirements of a training manual.

Applications include any data that can be referenced when writing a work. It can be: financial statements, tables, questionnaires, tests, questionnaires, schemes, federal laws, articles, own developments, drawings, etc. Everything that helped you in writing the report and was not included in the report itself.
